Shoe data sources
Effective September 2, 2026
PR Run publishes trail shoe specs, lab numbers, and our own takes. Here is where those numbers come from, and how to tell us when one is wrong.
Where the numbers come from
- Manufacturer product pages. Primary source for drop, stack, weight, and model copy. When a brand updates a shoe, we update the row. Every profile links out to the brand page when we have one.
- Running Warehouse. Product photos, confirmed weights, colorways, and retail price. Image credit sits on the shoe profile.
- RunRepeat. Independent lab numbers: traction, breathability, drying, torsional rigidity, toebox width and height, shock absorption, energy return, outsole thickness. Lab blocks link back to RunRepeat.
- iRunFar, Believe in the Run, Trail Runner Magazine. Public reviews. We quote short passages and always link to the original piece.
Our voice
Best-for notes, skip-if warnings, and editorial scores are written by us. Nothing lands on a public shoe page without a human pass.
Fit scores
100-miler readiness, descent tolerance, swelling room, grit resistance, hot-day comfort, and Achilles-friendly scores come from published specs and lab numbers. They are a reading aid, not a race result.
Images
Shoe photos are retailer product shots, brand images, RunRepeat gallery photos, or a PR Run override. If we cannot match the photo to the model, we show a neutral silhouette instead of the wrong shoe.
Corrections
Wrong number, mismatched photo, or a stale take? Write hi@pr.run with the shoe URL and what is off. Corrections usually ship the same day.
