Counter-clockwise loop from Belmont Mine headframe through Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. Sixty-three miles on the CDT. Thirteen thousand nine hundred sixty feet gain. High point Our Lady of the Rockies 8,383 feet at mile 58.6. Much of course above 6,500 feet.

The Work

Long remote sections between aid. Longest gap 17.7 miles Our Lady to Nez Perce. Train sustained climbing in Montana summer mountains.
