Loop from Jug Mountain Ranch south of McCall through Payette National Forest. Eight high passes. Twenty-two thousand feet gain on steep granite talus and narrow ridgelines. Deep canyon descents to pristine rivers. Peak elk rut weekend. Finishers compare it to Wasatch with more technical footing. Pace the early miles. The split often shows at mile 50. 36 hours spans 100 mi on 95% trail. +27,428 ft shapes the middle miles.
