Course DNA

The Course

Bagà in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees. Rebost and the opening climb to Niu de l'Àliga at 2,520 meters set the tone before km 17. Serrat de les Esposes and Cortals stay on the massif ridge. Prat d'Aguiló and Gósol drop to the south side at km 61, the only drop-bag point. Estasen and Gresolet climb back toward the crest. Aula Natura and Sant Jordi close the loop through forest trail above Bagà. Six thousand five hundred meters of vert in 100 km. The course rarely flatlines.

The Work

Compact mountain 100K. Sixty-five meters of gain per kilometer. Train the opening climb to Niu de l'Àliga pace. Practice running technical descents on tired quads after Gósol. October weather swings from warm Bagà starts to cold wind on the ridge.

Kit

Mandatory mountain kit per race rules. Windproof layer for Niu de l'Àliga. Headlamp if sub-14-hour is uncertain. Poles for the long climbs. Gósol can be cold at night when the second half begins.

Race Day

The opening climb is the race anchor. Do not redline before Rebost. Niu de l'Àliga crew window is early. Gósol at km 61 is the pivot. Drop bag. Reassess. The return over Estasen feels harder than the outbound map suggests. Bagà finish closes at 08:00 Sunday.
