Course DNA

The Course

Remote wilderness singletrack through Idaho Pioneer Mountains. Over twenty-three thousand feet gain. High point 11,100 feet at Goat Lake, highest lake in Idaho. Twelve fully stocked aid stations, each hiked in. Long rugged stretches between aid. Spot trackers for all runners.

The Work

High alpine technical trails with steep grades averaging 325 feet per mile on shorter distances. No qualifier in 2026 but do not enter unprepared. Many DNFs despite strong training.

Kit

Mandatory windproof waterproof jacket, warm layer, headlamp with backup, personal cup, course map. Drop bags hiked to select stations. Full mountain kit.

Race Day

5:00 am Saturday start. Finish by 8:00 pm Sunday, 39 hours. Detailed aid station cutoff chart on website. Weather changes fast above treeline.
