The Course
Single loop of the La Sal Mountains above Moab. One hundred miles averaging 8,700 feet elevation. Twenty-three thousand three hundred fifty-six feet gain. Kokopelli singletrack, aspen groves, technical scree on Mann's Peak. Views into Castle Valley and Colorado River canyon.
The Work
High-altitude technical terrain. Small field, 24 to 65 finishers typical. Not a Hardrock or Western States qualifier by design. Train scree descents and night alpine travel.
Kit
Mountain weather kit. Poles for long climbs. Headlamp for alpine night. Crew access at key stations. Bear and lion country.
Race Day
5:00 am Saturday start. Forty-one hour cutoff, 10:00 pm Sunday. South Mountain hard cutoff midnight at mile 56.8. Second Geyser Pass cutoff noon Sunday at mile 81.
