The Course
Crans-Montana start in the Swiss Valais. Gemmipass at 2,268 meters through the Leukerbad wildlife reserve. Cabane Wildstrubel at 2,789 meters above the Plaine Morte glacier. Col du Rawil returns to Valais. Pace the early miles. The split often shows at mile 34. 27 hours spans 110 km on 80% trail. +22,134 ft shapes the middle miles.
The Work
Alpine loop racing with two cantons. Train steep Gemmipass grades near 27 percent. Back-to-back vert with pole hiking. Rehearse the hut ridge in wind and cold before race week. Stack two long alpine days on consecutive weekends.
