Multi-pass out-and-back on PCT and Angeles National Forest singletrack from Lake Hughes Community Center. Sixteen thousand four hundred forty-seven feet gain. High desert chaparral, oak woodland, remote ridgelines. Ten aid stations, several hike-in for crew. 33 hours spans 99.3 mi on 95% trail. +8,543 ft shapes the middle miles.
The Work
Repeated PCT climbs in heat. Train on technical descents. Western States qualifier at 33 hours. Not a supported through-hike. Cutoffs are fair but real. Train +8,543 ft across 99.3 mi. Long back-to-backs in April weather.
